It shares its core design with the rest of the 55 Series: an Inverted Apex surround that widens the cone's usable surface area for more output per watt, and Spider Plateau Venting paired with a radial ribbed t-yoke that pulls heat away from the voice coil during extended play. A progressive suspension controls excursion as power increases, so bass stays controlled instead of breaking up at higher volume.

At 5.625 inches of mounting depth, the 5510-44 fits a standard 0.75 cu ft sealed enclosure for tight, accurate low end, or a 2.0 cu ft vented box when the goal is maximum output for SPL listening.
