The MTX 5515-44 is the 4-ohm version of the largest subwoofer in the 55 Series, rated for 400 watts RMS and 800 watts peak with frequency response reaching down to 19 Hz. That low-end extension sets it apart from the 10 and 12 inch subs in the line, delivering bass that is felt as much as heard.

The Inverted Apex surround increases usable cone surface area for higher output per watt, while Spider Plateau Venting and a radial ribbed t-yoke manage heat at the voice coil during extended play. A progressive suspension keeps excursion under control as power climbs, so the low end stays defined rather than breaking up. At 8.0 inches of mounting depth, the 5515-44 fits a 1.5 cu ft sealed enclosure for tighter bass or a 2.48 cu ft vented box for maximum output, and its 4-ohm wiring makes it a straightforward fit for amplifiers built around that load.
