Product Description

The DB1050 Passive Multimedia DI Box takes any line-level stereo source and sends it down a long cable as a low-impedance mono XLR signal that arrives at the mixer or PA without frequency loss. Four input options cover most of what shows up at a gig or an install: stereo 1/4", 3.5 mm, stereo RCA, and XLR, with a Hi-Z/XLR selector to match the source.

A high-quality transformer keeps distortion low and the signal path isolated, and the passive circuit runs with no power supply or batteries. The -15 dB pad switch keeps hot outputs from clipping the input, and the ground-lift switch defeats ground-loop hum from computers and other powered gear sharing an outlet. Throughput connectors pass the unaltered signal along to a stage amp or monitor, so the DI sits inline instead of interrupting the chain.

Frequency response runs 10 Hz to 40 kHz with 220K ohm input resistance, so keyboards, laptops, media players, projectors, and DJ gear all keep their tone. The 6" x 3.5" x 1.5" metal housing with nylon bumpers takes knocks in a road case, and at 0.70 lb it adds almost nothing to a gig bag.

Use it for house music playback at a club, projector audio in a conference room, a keyboard rig split between stage amp and front of house, or a DJ handoff at a wedding.

Features

    • Long Runs Without Loss

A high-quality transformer sends a low-impedance mono XLR signal down long cable runs to the mixer, holding onto the full 10 Hz to 40 kHz response.

    • Connects Almost Anything

Stereo 1/4", 3.5 mm, stereo RCA, and XLR inputs plus a Hi-Z/XLR selector match keyboards, laptops, media players, projectors, and DJ rigs.

    • Headroom On Hot Sources

The -15 dB pad switch drops input level so a loud laptop or keyboard output reaches the console clean instead of clipping the front end.

    • Quiet Signal Path

Ground lift and transformer isolation remove the hum that appears when a computer and the PA share power, keeping the feed clean at every level.

    • No Power, No Batteries

Passive circuitry works without a power supply, and the metal housing with nylon bumpers survives road cases at just 0.70 lb.
