Product Description

The LX-5 MKII is a 2-way floor-standing loudspeaker built for larger rooms and for the front pair in a home theater system. Two 6.5-inch composite fibre bass units and a 25mm microfibre dome treble unit work from a 42-litre bass reflex cabinet, covering 45Hz to 20kHz within +/- 3dB with bass extension to 38Hz at -6dB. The extra cone area over the LX-4 MKII moves more air, which shows up as fuller low end at higher volume.

The Inverted Driver Geometry layout places the treble unit below the bass units so the path length from each one to your ears is equalized. Sound waves arrive together at seated head height, which tightens transient attack and keeps vocals and cymbals distinct. Serrations in the driver surrounds scatter reflections that would otherwise interfere with output from the dome and cone, and the crossover at 2.3kHz was tuned around that flatter response. A re-engineered bracing system and improvements to the bass unit tighten control of low-frequency movement.

Sensitivity of 90dB with a 30-150W recommended amplifier range covers everything from a modest integrated amp to a serious AV receiver, and 8-ohm nominal impedance with a 4.2-ohm minimum keeps the load manageable. Peak SPL reaches 106dB.

The cabinet stands 995mm tall on its plinth and 226mm wide, so it holds a real tower presence without dominating a living room. The Lux Black matte finish keeps it understated next to a TV or rack. It suits a two-channel listening room, a large living room system, or a surround front stage that needs to fill space without a subwoofer doing all the work.

Features

    • Low End For A Bigger Room

Two 6.5" bass units in a 42-litre bass reflex cabinet reach 38Hz at -6dB, moving enough air to fill a large living room without a subwoofer.

    • Time-Aligned Sound At Your Seat

Inverted Driver Geometry places the treble unit below the bass units so output arrives at head height together, sharpening transient attack and vocal detail.

    • Flatter Response Through The Crossover

Serrated driver surrounds scatter local reflections off the dome and cone, and the 2.3kHz crossover is tuned around that cleaner measured output.

    • Headroom On Everyday Amplifiers

90dB sensitivity, 8-ohm nominal impedance, and a 30-150W range let mainstream amps and receivers reach a 106dB peak without running out of power.

    • Finish Built For Modern Rooms

The Lux Black matte finish keeps a 995mm tower understated beside a TV or rack, and it shows fingerprints and dust far less than gloss.
