The Planet Audio PM40RGB is a double-DIN digital media receiver that replaces a factory radio with a Bluetooth-ready source unit. There is no CD or DVD mechanism, and that is the point: music comes from a paired phone, a connected USB device, or FM/AM radio. It puts out 60W x 4 max power and plays MP3 and WMA files.

Bluetooth handles two jobs here. Audio streaming plays and controls apps like Spotify or Pandora from your phone with no cable, and hands-free calling runs through the built-in microphone and your car speakers so conversations stay clear and your hands stay on the wheel. Sound shaping is built in with balance, fader, bass, and treble adjustment plus preset EQ curves for styles like rock and pop. ID3 tag support shows title, artist, album, and track number on screen instead of raw file names. Front and rear preamp outputs give you a path to add amplifiers later for door speakers and a subwoofer without replacing the head unit again.

Multi-color illumination lets you match panel backlighting to your dash lighting for an install that looks like it belongs there, and the included wireless remote covers key functions from a passenger seat or the back row.
