PWM-6BX

The PWM-6BX is a digital bass processor and 5-band equalizer that sits between your source unit and your amplifiers to rebuild low-frequency content that compressed music files leave behind. ParaBASS low-frequency contouring shapes the bass curve, wide and sweep parametric controls let you target the exact frequency you want to lift, and the Bass Maximizer effect control brings back low-octave harmonics for more weight on the bottom end.

Three inputs (AUX, low-level RCA, and high-level speaker level at 60 ohms) mean it works behind a factory radio with no preamp outputs as well as an aftermarket head unit, with 20k ohm input impedance on the low-level side. Three preamp outputs give you six channels at up to 7V RMS and 12V peak into 150 ohms, and 20dB of preamp gain sends amplifiers a strong, clean signal. Measured performance is 0.01% total harmonic distortion, a 110dB signal-to-noise ratio, and 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response.

Tuning covers five equalizer bands at 50Hz, 200Hz, 1kHz, 5kHz, and 20kHz with plus or minus 18dB of cut and boost, a dedicated subwoofer level control that works independently of main volume, and a subsonic filter adjustable from 35Hz to 80Hz to keep the woofer from spending excursion on frequencies it cannot reproduce.

A high-headroom PWM switching power supply draws just 250mA on a 1A fuse, and the 7"W x 5.1"D x 1.2"H chassis fits under a seat, behind a dash panel, or on an amp rack in a full system build.
