ATOM SQ is a hybrid MIDI keyboard and pad controller built for producers who move between programming beats and playing parts. Its 32 velocity- and pressure-sensitive RGB pads sit in a staggered layout that reads like a keyboard for melodic playing and like a 16-step grid for drum sequencing, so both jobs happen on one surface. Deep Studio One integration connects the pads to the Pattern Editor: insert a pattern, change its length, add variations, select and edit individual steps, and copy, paste, duplicate, or delete events without touching the mouse. In Ableton Live, the same controls launch clips and scenes, select devices and edit parameters, and set track volume, pan, and send levels, with the touch strip assigned to the crossfader. Constrain to Scale limits your playing to a chosen scale, and the built-in arpeggiator turns held chords into moving lines. Eight endless rotary encoders can be assigned to nearly any software parameter, from filter cutoff to drum tuning, and the context-sensitive LCD shows which parameters, CC assignments, and swing settings are active. MCU and HUI modes plus a full MIDI mode cover DAWs beyond Studio One, and transport controls, a click toggle, timeline zoom, and track selection keep a session moving without a keyboard. The chassis measures 14.25 inches wide and 0.98 inches tall, weighs 2 lb, and runs on USB-C bus power, so it fits in a laptop bag for studio, stage, or hotel-room sessions. Studio One Artist, Ableton Live Lite, and two loop packs with custom Impact XT kits are included, so a complete production setup is ready the day it arrives.
