Product Description

The Eris Studio 5 is a powered reference monitor built for small and mid-size rooms where you need to hear detail without a subwoofer. A custom EBM (Elliptical Boundary Modeled) waveguide spreads high frequencies across 100 degrees horizontally, widening the sweet spot so the stereo image holds when you move in your chair or work with someone beside you. Vertical dispersion is held to 60 degrees, which reduces reflections off the desk that muddy the midrange. A 1-inch ultra-low-mass silk-dome tweeter reproduces transients accurately, crossing over at 3.5 kHz to a 5.25-inch woven-composite woofer that keeps bass tight and punchy. A front-firing acoustic port and resonance-suppressing internal bracing take response down to 48 Hz, a full 10 Hz below previous models and low enough to judge bass parts without adding a sub. 80W of Class AB dual amplification reaches 102 dB peak SPL at one meter. Acoustic Tuning controls cover placement problems directly: Acoustic Space settings of flat, -2 dB, and -4 dB, continuously variable high- and mid-frequency controls with plus or minus 6 dB at 10 kHz and 1 kHz, and a low cut of flat, 80 Hz, or 100 Hz at -12 dB per octave. Rear-panel inputs include balanced XLR and 1/4-inch TRS plus unbalanced RCA, covering interfaces, mixers, and consumer sources. Protection covers RF interference, output-current limiting, over-temperature, turn-on and turn-off transients, and subsonic content, and Power Saver mode engages after 40 minutes of silence.

Features

    • A Sweet Spot Worth Sharing

The EBM waveguide spreads highs across 100 degrees horizontally, so the stereo image stays intact when you shift position or bring someone in to listen.

    • Keeps the Desk Out of It

Narrow 60 degree vertical dispersion cuts reflections off the desktop, which keeps vocals and snare detail defined instead of smeared by comb filtering.

    • 48 Hz Without a Subwoofer

A front-firing port and braced cabinet reach 10 Hz lower than previous models, so bass and kick decisions can be made on the monitors alone.

    • Headroom for Real Levels

80W of Class AB dual amplification reaches 102 dB peak SPL at one meter, leaving room to check a mix loud without the amp running out.

    • Four Ways to Fix the Room

Acoustic Space, high, mid, and low cut controls compensate for corners, walls, and hard surfaces, so placement compromises do not decide how mixes sound.
