The StudioLive AR12c looks like a classic analog console and records like a studio rig. Eight high-gain XMAX mic preamps sit behind a pristine analog front end, feeding a 14x4, 24-bit/96 kHz USB-C compatible audio interface. Every channel gets a musical 3-band analog EQ with a highpass filter, and the mono channels add a sweepable mid band.

Recording works three ways. Send all 12 channels plus the main mix to your computer over USB, capture a stereo main mix straight to an SD or SDHC card with no computer attached, or run both at once for a backup. Four playback streams come back for monitoring earlier takes plus a click. Mic/line boost on the stereo channels raises low-level vintage synths and broadcast microphones without extra gain staging.

The stereo Super Channel handles four sources at once: RCA for a turntable, 1/8-inch for a phone, Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless playback, and a switchable SD or USB stereo return. That covers intro music for a podcast, break music between sets, and rehearsing over a reference track.

Onboard reverb, delay, and chorus with 16 presets and a footswitch bypass jack let players monitor with effects at no added latency, and you can record the effects mix with or without the dry channels. Two monitor buses with balanced TRS outputs cover wedges or in-ears, and L/R control room outputs plus a level-controlled headphone output cover the studio side. Metal chassis, 60 mm faders, internal power supply, optional rackmount kit. Capture, Studio One Artist, and Studio Magic are included.
