SLMAR8C

The StudioLive AR8c is a compact hybrid mixer for podcasts, live streams, and home recording. The layout is familiar analog: four high-gain XMAX mic preamps, two Hi-Z inputs for guitar or bass, and two mono plus two stereo channels with a musical 3-band EQ and highpass filter on each. Underneath sits an 8x4, 24-bit/96 kHz USB-C compatible audio interface.

Record all six inputs plus the main mix to your computer, so a two- or three-host podcast lands on separate tracks for editing. Four playback streams come back for previously recorded tracks, sound effects, and loopback audio. Mic/line boost on the stereo channels lifts low-output broadcast mics and consumer sources.

The stereo Super Channel handles four sources at once: RCA for a turntable, 1/8-inch for a phone, Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless playback, and switchable SD or USB stereo return, which makes it simple to fire bumpers and stingers into a show in real time or practice along with a track.

The stereo SD recorder writes your main mix to any SD or SDHC card, so mobile interviews and rehearsals happen with no computer in the bag. The onboard effects processor adds reverb, delay, or chorus with 16 presets and a footswitch bypass jack at no added latency, and the effects mix can be recorded with or without the dry channels. One monitor bus with a balanced TRS output, L/R control room outputs, and a level-controlled headphone output round out the routing. Capture, Studio One Artist, and Studio Magic are included; a rackmount kit is optional.
