PRX918XLF

The JBL PRX918XLF is an 18-inch powered subwoofer from the PRX900 Series, built to put weight under a portable or installed system. A next-generation 918SG ferrite woofer runs on an efficient Class D amplifier rated 2,000 watts peak and 1,000 watts RMS, producing 134 dB max SPL and reaching down to 30 Hz.

Cabinet construction is 18 mm birch plywood with optimized internal bracing, which keeps low frequency response even and holds up to repeated truck packing. An FEA flared port design cuts air noise and distortion at the levels where cheaper ports start chuffing, so the bottom end stays defined rather than blurry when you push it.

The DSP package is accessible from an onboard color LCD or the JBL Pro Connect app. It includes 6-band parametric EQ for tuning a room, a low-pass filter, selectable 80 Hz, 100 Hz, and 120 Hz crossover points, and 20 ms of delay so you can time-align the sub with your tops. Presets cover pairing with PRX900 full-range speakers, and DriveRack technology adds 180 ms of speaker delay in 100-microsecond steps for larger distributed systems.

The JBL Pro Connect app controls up to 10 speakers over BLE and integrates with JBL EON ONE MK2, PRX ONE, and EON700 systems, with speaker grouping and snapshots available in the app only. Two XLR combo inputs and two XLR pass-through outputs feed the rest of the rig, and an M20 pole cup lets you stack a full-range cabinet directly on top.

Operation is fanless and quiet. Two side handles and a net weight of 89.7 lb make it a two-person lift or a one-person cart job. JBL covers it with a seven-year warranty.
