Q9U

The Q9U is a broadcast dynamic microphone with both an XLR analog output and a USB-C digital output, so one mic covers a computer-based setup and a mixer-based one. Over USB-C it records at 24-bit/96kHz directly to a Mac or Windows machine with no driver downloads, and the 1/8" headphone output provides zero-latency monitoring so you hear your voice in real time.

The dynamic capsule uses a neodymium magnet for enough output to work with any mixer or audio interface without an external gain booster, a common problem with low-output broadcast mics. An advanced humbucking coil cuts the pickup of electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference along with hum from nearby equipment, which helps in rooms full of computers, lights, and power supplies.

A cardioid polar pattern keeps the voice front and center with strong off-axis rejection, reducing keyboard clatter and room reflections in an untreated space. Inside, an air-pneumatic shock mount isolates the capsule from desk and boom arm vibration, and a dual-layer windscreen handles plosives without an external pop filter. Onboard low-cut and mid-presence boost controls let you thin out desk rumble or add vocal clarity at the source, and the mute button silences both the USB and XLR outputs at once.

Die-cast construction and an integrated swivel yoke mount hold it on a boom arm or floor stand. It suits a solo podcaster on a laptop, a multi-host studio running into a console, a live streamer, and voice recording where the same mic has to work in both worlds.
