Its 4th-generation mic preamp offers a 69dB gain range, the clearest and most detailed yet on a Scarlett, and a Hi-Z guitar input lets a guitar plug in directly and feel like it's running through an amp. Air mode adds the presence and harmonic character of a classic studio console to vocals and guitars when a track needs it.

Dynamic Gain Halos make setting levels visual and quick with any mic, or Auto Gain can set the perfect level automatically after ten seconds of playing. Clip Safe checks input levels up to 96,000 times a second while recording, adjusting gain on the fly to avoid clipping and protect the take. 24-bit, 192kHz converters shared with Focusrite's RedNet interfaces give a 120dB dynamic range, and Loopback lets stereo audio from other software route straight into a DAW for sampling. The bundle includes Ableton Live Lite, a three-month Pro Tools Artist subscription, Cubase LE, and the full Hitmaker Expansion software bundle, so recording, mixing, and final polish tools are ready the moment the interface is plugged in.
