Product Description
Low-output dynamics and ribbons often leave a console preamp working near the top of its range, where hiss and coloration start to show. The DM1 supplies clean gain before that point: a Class-A design built around hand-selected FETs, 9 uV of output noise, and a 10 Hz to 120 kHz frequency range that stays out of the way of the microphone character. Output impedance sits at 135 Ohms, low enough to hold the signal together over long cable runs.
The +28 dB figure stays put regardless of the connected load, so results are predictable when the same mic moves between a studio console, a live desk, and a portable recorder. That consistency matters for podcast rigs running several dynamic mics, broadcast booths, ribbon mics on guitar cabinets and brass, and quiet acoustic sources.
The housing is all-metal with a premium finish made for touring and daily studio work, and gold-plated XLR connectors keep the connection reliable through repeated patching. At 19 mm across and 96 mm long, it disappears behind a mic clip or into a patch bay without crowding the setup.
Features
-
Gain Where It Belongs
Adding +28 dB at the microphone lets your console preamp work in its quiet middle range instead of straining at maximum, keeping hiss out of the recording.
-
Consistent Every Time
The gain figure holds at +28 dB regardless of the connected load, so a mic behaves the same on a studio console, a live desk, or a field recorder.
-
Honest To The Source
A Class-A design with a 10 Hz to 120 kHz frequency range passes the microphone tone through untouched, adding level rather than a sound of its own.
-
Long Cable Runs, No Trouble
A 135 Ohm output impedance holds the signal together across long snake runs, keeping high-frequency detail intact between the stage box and the control room.
-
Built For The Road
The all-metal body and gold-plated XLR connectors survive repeated patching, tour cases, and daily studio use without loose contacts or signal loss.
