DynaCaster DCM8

The DynaCaster DCM8 is a dynamic studio microphone you speak or sing into from the front, built around a cardioid aluminum voice coil capsule developed from the sE V Series stage mics. Its defining feature is the built-in DYNAMITE preamp: flip the switch and you get 30 dB of clean gain, which moves sensitivity from 2.0 to 60 mV/Pa and lets a dynamic mic work quietly on interfaces and mixers that would otherwise hiss at full gain.

Two recessed EQ switches give six voicing configurations, so a thin voice or a boomy room gets handled at the microphone rather than in the mix. The cardioid pattern and dynamic capsule reject room reflections and background noise, which is why this style of mic remains the standard in broadcast studios and untreated home setups alike.

A three-layer pop filtration system and a patented shockmount are built into the body, so nothing hangs in front of the mic to block a camera angle. The stand mount is integrated with a wide swivel range and has been tested across common booms and arms. The all-metal housing and gold-plated XLR connector are made for daily handling.

Frequency range runs 20 Hz to 19 kHz, and powering is 48 V phantom at 3.0 mA. At 850 g and 220 mm long, it needs a boom or arm rated for the weight. It suits podcasting, livestreaming, broadcast, voice-over, and vocal tracking, and handles loud sources like guitar cabinets and snare. A windscreen and thread adapter are included.
