DynaCaster DCM6

The DynaCaster DCM6 is a front-facing cardioid dynamic microphone made for speech, with the sE DYNAMITE preamp built in. One button adds 30 dB of clean gain, moving sensitivity from 2.5 to 79 mV/Pa, so the mic reaches a strong recording level on interfaces and mixers that would otherwise be pushed into their own noise.

The capsule uses a copper voice coil and neodymium magnet with a 40 Hz to 18 kHz response tuned for voice: full in the low mids, controlled in the sibilance range, and even across the presence band, which is why voices sit forward without heavy EQ. The cardioid pattern keeps room reflections, keyboard noise, and traffic out of the recording, an advantage in rooms with no acoustic treatment.

Pop filtration and shock isolation are handled inside the body, so there is no external basket or screen blocking a camera. The mount has a wide swivel range and has been tested on common boom arms, which makes positioning quick when the mic moves between guests. The housing is rock-solid metal with a corrosion-resistant finish, and the gold-plated XLR connector keeps the connection reliable through repeated patching.

Powering is 48 V phantom at 3.1 mA. The mic measures 158 x 86 x 62 mm and weighs 518 g, light enough for most desk arms. It suits podcasting, streaming, broadcast, voice-over, and vocal recording. A thread adapter is included.
