Metal Pop Filter

This pop filter looks like a simple metal screen, and the shape is where the work happens. The perforation sits on a slightly convex curve that redirects low-frequency air blasts out to the sides instead of absorbing them head-on. Plosives get dealt with, while high frequencies pass through untouched, so a vocal keeps its air and detail rather than sounding covered.

That is the practical difference between metal and fabric. A fabric membrane works by absorption, which takes a small amount of top end with it. Here the vocal arrives at the capsule as the singer delivered it, minus the low-frequency pops that would otherwise force a punch-in or a fix in the mix.

The gooseneck holds its position at any angle, so once the screen is set for a singer it stays there through a session instead of creeping toward the capsule. The clamp fits standard mic stands and booms.

Because the whole assembly is metal, it takes handling that would eventually stretch or tear a fabric shield, and it wipes clean between users, which matters in shared studios, podcast rooms, and rehearsal spaces.
