Product Description

The RF SPACE is the largest Reflexion Filter sE makes, and the size is the point. A wider, taller panel covers more of the arc behind and around a microphone, so fewer reflections find their way to the capsule from the sides. Deeper air gaps between layers extend absorption further down in frequency, which is where portable shields usually run out of ability.

Inside, it uses an advanced version of the patented sE multi-layer technology with more efficient materials. The result is a balanced, acoustically neutral pocket around the mic: full-bandwidth absorption, isolation, and diffusion working together rather than a bright, over-absorbed dead spot. Coloration stays out of the signal, so a vocal or a string section sounds like itself, only closer.

In practice this is the choice for tracking in rooms you cannot treat properly, for capturing a dry lead vocal in a live space, and for isolating a loud source in a room shared with other players. It is hand-built at the sE factory.

Mounting hardware is specialised and stable, and the kit includes sealable sand bags to weigh down a mic stand carrying a large panel, plus a mic stand thread adapter. Fill the bags yourself; sand is not included.
