T1

The T1 is the cardioid-only version of the multi-pattern T2, built around the same hand-crafted twin 1" titanium-sputtered brass capsule. Titanium is stiffer and roughly three times lighter than gold, and that combination is what gives this mic its fast transient response and accurate definition.

That speed pays off on percussive sources. Drums, percussion, overheads and hi-hats keep their attack instead of rounding off, and the mic holds its composure on piano, bass guitar cabs and electric guitar cabs where transients and low-end weight arrive together. Max SPL reaches 157 dB with the -20 dB pad, so close placement on loud sources stays clean, while 9 dB(A) self-noise and an 85 dB signal-to-noise ratio keep quiet work like vocals and orchestral strings free of hiss.

Switchable 80 and 160 Hz low-cut filters trim proximity buildup and stage rumble at the source. The all-metal housing is built roadworthy, and the close-miking shockmount lets you position the capsule in tight spots around a kit or amp.

At 290 g and 146 mm long, the body reaches places larger side-firing condensers cannot. Recommended for drums, percussion, overheads, hi-hats, orchestral strings, piano, bass and electric guitar cabs, acoustic guitar, vocals, woodwinds and brass. Shockmount, thread adapter and metal case are included.
