Product Description
Field audio is rarely captured in a quiet room, and the tight supercardioid pattern is what makes it workable. It isolates the person speaking while rejecting traffic, crowd noise, and wind arriving from the sides and rear, giving high intelligibility and strong feedback rejection at press conferences and live standups. Off-axis response stays natural, so a subject who turns away mid-answer does not go dull.
A patented integrated shockmount decouples the capsule from the housing, holding handling noise to a class-leading level. That matters for a reporter walking with the mic, passing it between interviewees, or working from a moving vehicle.
Two windscreens ship in the box. The black internal screen sits inside the grille for everyday plosive control, and the external foam windscreen goes on for gusty outdoor work.
Construction is all metal: a die-cast zinc alloy chassis, a stainless spring-steel mesh grille that is dent-proof and corrosion-free, and gold-plated XLR contacts that hold a loss-free connection over years of field use. The beveled edge around the grille keeps the mic from rolling when you set it on a table or news riser.
Built for broadcast crews, documentary shoots, sports sidelines, red carpets, and any interview recorded outside a controlled room.
Features
-
Room For Your Station Flag
The 250 mm handle leaves space for a broadcast flag, so your identification stays visible in frame during standups and press scrums.
-
Isolates The Subject
The supercardioid capsule rejects sound from the sides and rear, keeping traffic, crowds, and competing audio out of an interview recorded on location.
-
Low Handling Noise
A patented integrated shockmount decouples the capsule from the chassis, so walking shots and mic hand-offs stay free of thumps and rumble.
-
Two Windscreens Included
An internal screen handles everyday plosives and the external foam cover goes on for gusty outdoor work, covering both without an extra purchase.
-
Field-Proof Construction
Die-cast zinc alloy, a dent-proof stainless mesh grille, and gold-plated XLR contacts resist corrosion and hold a clean signal through years of field use.
