Product Description

The Soundcraft EPM8 is an analog mixing console built for live sound and recording work that calls for a clean signal path and simple, direct control. Eight mono input channels each carry a GB30 mic preamp with a 55dB gain range and +22dB of headroom, so quiet mics and hot line sources both sit comfortably without distortion. Two stereo channels take keyboards, playback decks, and other line-level gear, and switchable 48V phantom power runs condenser mics of any type.

Every mono channel gets 3-band EQ with a swept midrange, letting you pull problem frequencies out of vocals and drums rather than working around them. Stereo channels use 2-band EQ. TRS insert points on all mono inputs and the mix output leave room for outboard compressors and gates. Two configurable aux buses cover monitor sends and effects, and ten-segment LED output metering gives a clear read on level before the signal leaves the desk.

The PEAK LED watches several points along the channel strip at once and lights more brightly as the signal approaches clipping, so you catch overload where it happens. 60mm faders, the same ones used on larger Soundcraft desks, give fine control over level. Monitor and headphone outputs run in parallel, so a performer can listen on headphones while an engineer works on studio monitors.

Surface-mount construction with close-tolerance components keeps EQ and gain settings repeatable from one session to the next. XLR and 1/4" metal jack connectors stand up to stage handling, and RCA phono inputs and outputs connect playback and recording gear directly. The chassis racks up when a fixed install calls for it, which suits small live venues, project studios, houses of worship, and multi-speaker installations.

Features

    • GB30 Preamps Built For Detail

Each mono channel uses a GB30 mic preamp with a 55dB gain range and +22dB of headroom, so quiet sources and hot line signals both stay clean.

    • EQ That Fixes Real Problems

3-band EQ with a swept midrange on every mono channel lets you find and pull the exact frequency causing trouble on vocals or drums.

    • Overload You Can See Coming

The PEAK LED watches several points in the channel strip and grows brighter as the signal nears clipping, so you catch trouble before it reaches the mix.

    • Room For Outboard Gear

TRS insert points on all eight mono inputs and the mix output let you patch compressors, gates, or effects into any channel or the full mix.

    • Two Listening Paths At Once

Monitor and headphone outputs run in parallel, so a performer can listen on headphones while an engineer checks the same mix on studio monitors.
