Notepad-8FX

The Soundcraft Notepad-8FX is an eight-channel analog mixer with a built-in USB audio interface and Lexicon digital effects. Two combo XLR/line channels run Soundcraft mic preamps, one switchable to Hi-Z for guitar or bass. Two stereo 1/4" line inputs with trim and an RCA stereo pair take keyboards, drum machines, and playback sources, so a small band or a two-host podcast fits without compromise.

Both mono channels carry high, mid, and low EQ along with pan, level, and aux send. That gives real tone control per source plus a separate feed for monitors or effects. An output fader with LED metering and a rotary headphone level control keep mixing and monitoring straightforward.

Lexicon reverb, chorus, and delay with tap tempo run inside the mixer DSP engine. Vocals sit better in a mix and guitars get depth with no plug-ins or outboard gear, and the effect goes to your recording along with the dry signal.

The USB interface moves audio in both directions over a single cable to a Mac or PC. USB return is summed with the RCA pair into channels 7 and 8, which keeps playback and monitoring simple during a session. Mac connection is plug-and-play; PC use calls for the Soundcraft driver.

A metal enclosure with XLR and 1/4" connectors handles rehearsal room and travel wear, and the compact footprint fits in a gear bag with room to spare. Typical setups include a home studio, a two-person podcast table, an acoustic duo at a small venue, and a rehearsal space where a couple of mics and a backing track need mixing.
