MPQ-7XO

The MPQ-7XO is a 7-band parametric equalizer and line-level booster for car audio systems that need real tuning control between the source unit and the amplifiers. Each band has its own defined bandwidth, so you correct cabin peaks and dips at specific frequencies instead of sliding broad tone controls. Boost or cut runs to 18dB per band, with an additional 18dB bass boost when you want low-end lift without touching the rest of the curve. Dedicated subwoofer outputs with their own level control and a 32Hz, 64Hz, or 128Hz frequency selector let you set where the low channel takes over. Output climbs to 8 volts RMS, which lets you run amplifier gains low and keep noise down over long RCA runs. A low-noise BI-FET op-amp design keeps distortion at 0.01% THD with a 115 dB signal-to-noise ratio, and 20dB of headroom keeps signal overload out of the picture on dynamic tracks. Gold-plated RCA inputs and outputs resist corrosion at the connection points, and an input selector switches between auxiliary and CD sources. The isolated PWM power supply keeps chassis noise out of the audio path. A universal half-DIN chassis measuring 7 inches wide by 4-1/2 inches deep mounts under a dash, in a console, or in a rack, with a blue display and silver buttons.
