E-15 V.4 D4

The E-15 V.4 D4 is a 15-inch subwoofer built for deep, sustained low bass on 750W RMS and 1500W peak. Most entry-level 15s run out of travel and heat capacity long before they run out of power. This one answers both with a 2.5-inch four-layer copper voice coil wound with high-temperature wire and a motor designed around cooling and excursion.

A double-stacked magnet with a heavily vented magnetic gap and a solid pole piece pulls heat out of the gap, so the woofer holds its output through long, loud listening. The motor geometry allows 14mm of one-way linear Xmax, moving air like cones considerably larger. A high-strength poly-cotton spider is both bolted and glued to the stamped steel frame, and stitched-on Mini-XL tinsel leads plus push terminals keep wiring quick and secure.

Dual 4-ohm coils wire to 2 ohm or 8 ohm, which suits amplifiers that are happiest at a higher load or multi-sub builds where total impedance matters. This woofer is built for ported boxes: 3.0 cu ft with 44 sq in of port area tuned to 35 Hz is the target. Sealed enclosures are not recommended. For bandpass builds, run a 1.5 cu ft sealed side and a 4.5 cu ft ported side with 90 sq in of port and a 6-inch port length. Plan on 7.25 inches of mounting depth behind a 13.875-inch cutout, a footprint that works for trunk builds, truck boxes, and dual-sub walls.
