UM5

The Technical Pro UM5 is a USB condenser microphone for recording voice at home without an interface or a mixer. It captures up to 192kHz / 24-bit resolution across a 20Hz-20kHz frequency response with a 75dB signal-to-noise ratio, so spoken word and vocals land with detail intact on the first take.

The cardioid pickup pattern listens to what sits directly in front of the capsule and rejects sound from the sides and rear. In a bedroom, dorm, or shared office, that means less keyboard clatter, less room echo, and less of the conversation happening behind you. Active noise reduction filters the ambient sound that remains, and a double tap on the body toggles it mid-session.

Controls live on the microphone itself. Tap once to mute or unmute, with an LED status indicator confirming the state, and press and hold to cycle RGB lighting modes. A 3.5mm headphone jack gives zero-latency monitoring with onboard echo and volume controls, so you hear your own voice the way a listener does and fix problems before the next take rather than after.

Eleven RGB lighting modes, including gradient and dynamic effects, suit streaming and on-camera work, and the lighting switches off completely for interviews, client calls, and podcast recordings where a glowing desk is a distraction. Sensitivity runs from -39dB to -11dB at 80dB SPL, covering quiet narration and louder singing.
