The Technical Pro XO3 splits one signal into three frequency bands plus a dedicated subwoofer output, so each amplifier in a rack only sees the range its speakers are built to reproduce. Sub crosses between 50-250Hz, low/high between 70-1,000Hz, and mid/high between 480-7,000Hz, and the separate sub output keeps low frequency routing independent of the main bands.

Sending full-range signal to every amplifier wastes power and pushes drivers past their limits. Filtering first protects tweeters from low frequency energy, keeps woofers out of the midrange where they turn muddy, and lets each amplifier work in the range where it is most efficient. Low cut filters at 30Hz with a 12dB per octave slope remove subsonic rumble before it eats headroom.

Signal quality holds up under the split: 20-25,000Hz response within plus or minus 1dB, total harmonic distortion under 0.05%, and a signal-to-noise ratio above 95dB. Inputs are 1/4", outputs offer both balanced XLR and 1/4", with 100 Kohms input impedance and 220 ohms output impedance for simple matching to mixers and power amplifiers.

The 19" x 1.75" x 5.75" chassis takes a single rack space and weighs 5.5 lb, leaving room in a road case for the amplifiers it feeds. Switchable 110-220V operation covers touring outside North America.

Use it in mobile DJ racks, band front-of-house rigs, bar and club installs, house of worship systems, and any bi-amped or tri-amped setup where a passive crossover inside the cabinet gives away too much control.
