XS Power SB1260-31 12V 10000 Watt 1260 Farad Super Capacitor Bank

The SB1260-31 is a 12V XS SuperBANK ultracapacitor bank: 1,260 farads rated for up to 10,000W of max power, in a package that weighs 19 lb. Instead of storing energy chemically, it stores it electrostatically, so it can release a large surge instantly and refill in seconds, over and over.

In a high-power car audio system, it supplies current the moment the amplifiers demand it, which holds system voltage steadier on heavy bass notes. In a starting system, it sends a surge to the 12V battery while the engine cranks, then recharges within a few seconds. Steadier voltage is easier on batteries, starters, relays, and engine control modules, which lowers the odds of expensive electrical repairs later.

Ultracaps also work well at temperature extremes. In winter, the bank supplies the burst of current that a cold, slow-cranking AGM battery cannot deliver quickly.
